Here is your Mi’kmaq History month fact of the day. Mi`kmaq people traditionally lived in Wigwams. The basic structure is 5 spruce poles lashed together at the top with split spruce roots and spread out at the bottom. Birch bark sheets were laid over the poles like shingles.

School Photos Are scheduled for next week. Tues., Oct. 14 – Gr. 10’s, Wed., Oct. 15 – Gr. 11’s, Thurs., Oct. 16th – Gr. 12’s.

Girls Varsity Soccer Team – Reminder that we play today at 4pm in BURNSIDE against Sackville High. Students will be dismissed at 2:50pm to make it to the game in time. Alex Gosse, you are reminded to please bring player fees!

Football players – there will be a meeting today in room 331 at the beginning of lunch. We will not be long so please be on time.

Youth Health Action – will meet in the Youth Health Centre room 209 today at lunch time.

Photography Club at lunch today in room 130, all interested photographers welcome!

Random Acts Club will meet on Tuesdays at lunch in room 132, starting today.

Fashion Show – First meeting is tomorrow at lunch. Everyone welcome.

Cross Country – There will be a Cross Country practice on Wednesday and Thursday of this week. Be there!

Grade 10/11 Girls Phys Ed. – Reminder of our Trail Run this Thursday (last block) with Mr. Woods and Mr. Jennings. Please plan to change quickly so we can get out for a great long run! Dress for the woods and mud.

New York Trip Meeting – for parents, this Thursday at 6pm in room 127.

The Cheetah Perspective – there will be a meeting to discuss/plan this year’s first edition of the school newspaper at lunch on Thursday in room 240.

New York Trip Deposits – We will be taking the first deposits (to secure your seat in the trip) this Friday. A cheque for $200 made out to ‘Ellision Travel’ can be brought to your Fine Arts/IB teacher.
