Here is your Mi’kmaq History month fact of the day. Snowshoes are a Mi`kmaq creation. The Mi’kmaq created different shapes and weaves for various snow conditions. They also made sleds to carry heavy loads over snow; they called the sled a toboggan.

School Photos Are scheduled for next week. Tues., Oct. 14 – Gr. 10’s, Wed., Oct. 15 – Gr. 11’s, Thurs., Oct. 16th – Gr. 12’s.

Grade 10/11 Girls Phys Ed. – Reminder of our Trail Run today (last block) with Mr. Woods and Mr. Jennings. Please plan to change quickly so we can get out for a great long run! Dress for the woods and mud.

New York Trip Meeting – for parents today at 6pm in room 127. We will be taking the first deposits (to secure your seat in the trip) tomorrow. A cheque for $200 made out to ‘Ellision Travel’ can be brought to your Fine Arts/IB teacher.

The Cheetah Perspective – there will be a meeting to discuss/plan this year’s first edition of the school newspaper at lunch today in room 240.

The International Film Club will be holding a meeting today at lunch in room 241. We will discuss possible films to watch over the course of the year. Bring your lunch and bring a friend.

SSUNS: The Model UN team traveling to Montreal will be meeting today at lunch in room 228. All must attend. If you cannot attend you must speak to Mr. Hall.

Europe 2015 – There will be a very important meeting for everyone traveling to Europe this March Break in room 231 .

Girls Volleyball Home Opener against SJA – Today at 6:00 in the CPA gym. Come out to cheer them on!

Cross Country: There will be an important meeting on Tuesday in room 327 at lunch for all runners intending to race in the regionals, Oct. 16th. See Mr. Hubley if you cannot make it to the meeting.
