Congratulations to the students who achieved Honours or High Honours during the 2014-2015 school year. We will be calling award recipients to the cafetorium on Wednesday beginning at 10:20 to present certificates and celebrate with cake. You can look up your student number on the CPA website to see if you’ve achieved Honours or High Honours, or search for your name on the bulletin board beside the main office.

Yearbook Meeting: Today at 3:30 in Room 202. SHAD – Deadline to apply November 30th– ARE you an inquisitive, critical thinker with an unquenchable need to explore ideas and possibilities? Shad Valley is just the experience for you. SHAD is hosted at excellent university campuses from coast to coast. The program provides lectures, labs, field work, cultural experiences, and recreation, offered to high school students, by professors, business professionals, practitioners and peers. Encounters with Canada – is a unique opportunity for Canadian teens to meet other young people from across the country, and spend an adventure-filled week in your nation’s capital! Expand your horizons and explore the possibilities for exciting careers that you’ve never before imagined! Visit important Canadian institutions, meet famous and accomplished Canadians, develop your leadership skills and enjoy an extraordinary, bilingual experience. Select from one of 13 theme weeks. Arts & Culture, Science and Technology, Sports and Fitness, Journalism and Communications, just to name a few. These programs are offered throughout the year, but it is first come first serve. Striving to Build African Nova Scotian Health Professionals for the Future – As part of an on-going collaboration with Nova Scotia Health Authority and IWK, Association of Black Social Workers, Dalhousie University, NSCC, and the Health Association of African Canadians, will be offering a career development event called “Striving to Build African Nova Scotian Health Professionals for the Future”. This is an opportunity for African NS students to meet health professionals from the community and learn more about health and health care. This year’s event will take place on November 19th at the NSCC IT campus. Students who are interested are asked sign up with Mrs. Swimm in guidance. Transportation and lunch will be provided.
