The BMO is closed to students today and Monday due to the Leafs’ training camp.
The top two classes with donations for the Terry Fox Run to date are: Ms. Walker- $57.85 and Ms. MacKenzie – $32.85. We have raised $718 toward our school goal of $4500, so keep donating to your A block teachers Cheetahs!!!
The Girls JV Soccer team posted their second lop-sided win yesterday afternoon crushing the Dartmouth High Spartans 14 – 0. Goals came from players too numerous to mention. The girls play their next game on Tuesday against Carrefour.
Attention Vimy travellers – There will be a brief meeting for all the students traveling to Vimy today at the beginning of lunch in room 231. All must attend. There will be a meeting of the JV Girls’ Soccer team at lunch in room 341. Forms will be collected and fees will be discussed.
Attention grade 12s – our first presentation of the year from post-secondary schools will be taking place on Tuesday and Wednesday. On Tuesday the Ivey Business School will be here. This school is part of the University of Western Ontario and is well known for its specialization in business programs.
On Wednesday Mount Saint Vincent University will be here to speak with students. The Mount is known for being a smaller school with a variety of unique and specialized programs. Both presentations will take place in the Library Quiet Room and will begin at 12:00.
Concerned about connecting with people, tired of all the electronics, please know that the Board Game Club is back baby! Every Friday at lunch in room 305, starting this week. The Board Game club was voted most innovated club last year at CPA. We are also going to have a lot more extra session after school this year, come in and sign up and you will get email notification whenever there is an event taking place.
The Bedford Skating Club is looking for volunteers for their learn-to-skate classes. Students who apply must be comfortable on skates (skate forwards, skate backwards, and stop) but are not required to have been trained in their program. If interested you must attend a training session on Sunday, Sept.25 from 5:30-8pm at LeBrun.
NSGEU – Scholarships – APPLY NOW The Education Committee would like to advise that they are now accepting applications for the NSGEU Member Bursaries, NSGEU Member’s Dependent Bursaries, and NSGEU Member’s Dependent Scholarships for the Fall (deadline is October 15th)
CPA will sponsor up to 3 Loran Award candidates. Applications can be picked up in Student Services. They are due on Monday, October 3 at 3:25 p.m. If you are not chosen as a sponsored applicant or you miss the deadline, you may still apply as a direct pool applicant on the website www.loranscholar.ca

|Be in your final year of uninterrupted full-time studies in high school.|
|Present a minimum cumulative average of 85%.|
|Hold Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status.|
|Be at least 16 years of age by September 1st of the following year.|
If you are currently undertaking a gap year for academic pursuits or community service-based activities, after uninterrupted full-time studies, you may still be eligible and should apply to the direct pool.
