The Boys JV Basketball Team defeated Dartmouth High on Monday night. The final score was 85 to 61. The boys next game is Monday night when they play Sir John A. here in our gym at 8pm. So come out and support the team.
Students – Please be advised that today, the BMO is hosting a tournament and as a result will be closed to the public.
Spots are still available for the Cultural Immersion Service trip to the Dominican Republic. See Mrs. Stanley in room 132 for more information.
Winter Coffee House – sign-up sheet is now available by the Cheetah Spot. The event is on Thursday December 15th from 6:00pm-9:00pm. As always the sign-up sheet is first come first serve and we will accepting 15-20 acts depending on the length of the acts. Sign up fast if you want to ensure a spot!
Grad Photos – Appointments can no longer be made on line. Please see the photographer on the 3rd floor if you would like to make an appointment. To those potential grads who have already booked a time, PLEASE keep your appointment or cancel it so the time slot can be given to another student. Note – students who do not wish to order a photo package are not required to pay the $15 sitting fee. It’s important that every potential grad have his/her picture taken for the yearbook. Don’t miss out!!
Grade 12’s – Scholarships- Just a reminder, in addition to checking announcements you can also find information about upcoming scholarships on Twitter and the scholarship bulletin board (outside the guidance office), or you can speak with your guidance counsellor.
The Peter Kohler Scholarship is awarded to a student who hopes to enter their first year of full-time studies in an Engineering Program at a University in Atlantic Canada in September 2017. This award is open to both graduating high school students, and students from a community college. Applicants will be adjudicated upon the basis of their financial need and their character, with preference given to students who display entrepreneurial spirit. The award is valued at $50,000, distributed over a period of four years – an outstanding opportunity for young Nova Scotian innovators who are facing financial hardship to excel and flourish. Queen’s University Major Admission Awards – Due: December 1st, 2016 – Criteria: Students who demonstrate superior academic ability, creative and original thinking, involvement in school or community activities, and proven leadership qualities can apply for a major admission award at Queen’s university. Financial need is also a consideration for some of their major admission awards. You may apply for one or all of their awards by submitting a single Major Admission Award Application. RBC Black History Month Student Essay Competition-Duce December 9th. Who can apply: Grade 12 students applying to college or university.
