CPA Peer Tutoring Program

The CPA peer tutoring program is run by students for students to help give extra support for academics. CPA Peer Tutors have demonstrated strength in the area of need to assist with studying, homework and assignments. All CPA peer tutors are recommended by teachers and screened by the peer tutoring coordinator.

National Book Award for Grade 12s

National Book Award recipients are students who demonstrate superior academic performance, original and creative thought, and exceptional achievement in a broad context. They excel in academic pursuits, demonstrate enthusiasm for intellectual exploration and have a strong involvement in the lives of their schools and communities. The nominee must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident intending to begin university study in September 2018.  Every school in Canada is invited to select one nominee for this award.

 Student’s  who wish to be nominated for this award are asked to submit their resume outlining his/her community involvement, extra-curricular activities, volunteer activities, and any work commitments to your guidance counsellor by Friday, October 20th. 

QLEAD Conference for High School Students

QLEAD is a four day conference in Kingston, Ontario that cultivates a collaborative environment that empowers young leaders to excel. Through exposure to engaging business challenges and networking opportunities, senior high school students can learn from other’s diverse perspectives and discover their leadership potential.  Every year, hundreds of inspired high school students apply to QLEAD to develop their leadership skills and gain a better understanding of the business world and university life. This four day conference allows delegates to connect with one another and given our QLEAD alumni network, are able to remain connected long after.

Horatio Alger Association of Canada Scholarship Information

The Horatio Alger Association of Canada provides $650,000 annually in need-based scholarship support for deserving students in all Canadian provinces and territories. Scholarships of up to $10,000 are awarded to full-time students in their terminal year of high school with financial need (family income under $65,000) who have demonstrated integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity, a commitment to pursue a post-secondary education, a desire to contribute to society, and a good academic record.

AES Engineering Scholarship

Scholarships are intended for our future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study. This award is available to high school seniors and all students attending a post secondary educational facility.

You are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible.

How to Apply

Students must submit an essay of between 500 and 1000 words in answer to the following question:

When you look back on your life in 30 years, what would it take for you to consider your life successful? What relationships or accomplishments will be important on this journey?

SHAD Summer Learning Opportunity

SHAD is a summer learning opportunity for students.  Applications are available online and close November 20th.

SHAD is not just for those with the highest academic average or most vocal student leader.  As Canada’s premier enrichment program, we are looking for Change Makers and “diamonds in the rough” – curious youth who want to realize their own potential to bring about real, positive change. It costs nothing to apply and bursaries and scholarships are available to ensure this opportunity is accessible to students from all backgrounds.

Loran Scholarship

Loran Scholarship Foundation –

Academic average of 85% or higher. Candidates should be students who demonstrate excellent citizenship, promise of leadership, and involvement in the community. CPAHS may sponsor up to three nominees for this award. If you wish to be considered for one of these three sponsorships, notify your Guidance Counsellor by October 10, 2017, and then have your Resume and Biographical Essay into Student Services by October 13, 2017. Direct Pool applications are strongly encouraged for students who are not sponsored by the school. Application deadline for Direct pool is Oct. 25, 2017.
