Here is your Mi’kmaq History month fact of the day. Smudging ceremonies are an important part of the Mi’kmaq Culture. Smudging cleanses your heart and thoughts, and open minds to accept and respect diversity and change. A smudge is done by burning one or a combination of sacred medicines.

Remembrance Day: Students who expressed interest in helping with Remembrance Day 2014 please attend a brief meeting today in room 324 at 12:00.

Math Competition – Any students interested in participating in the upcoming Sun Life Canadian Open Mathematics Competition should see Mr. Richardson in room 333 at lunch during this week. This is a great challenge for those interested in solving some unique problems. The contest will be held on Thursday, November 6th during C and D Blocks (and might run into lunch), and the registration deadline is this Friday. To register you must bring your fees ($12.50) to Mr. Richardson in room 333. ​

NSSSA: There will be an important meeting for all students interested in attending this year’s Metro NSSSA Conference Friday at lunch in room 302. The conference will be held November 15th-16th at Mount Saint Vincent University. All interested students are encouraged to attend.

Gym -There is no open gym at lunch today.  Grade 10 Physical Education will be conducting fitness test make-ups.  Beep test make-ups will be held on Friday at lunch.

March Break Trip – There will be a quick meeting at the beginning of lunch for march break trip participants in room 231.


Attention French immersion students participating in the essay writing contest. There will be a brief meeting for all the participants in room 231 at the beginning of lunch on Thursday, October 16.


Cross Country – There will be a meeting of the Senior Boys who intend to race tomorrow.  See Mr. Hubley in room 327 at lunch today.
