A huge thank you to Me to We’s We Scare Hunger group for collecting over 1000 food items for Feed Nova Scotia!  Very impressive!

The CPA girls hockey team had a league game against a great rival, Halifax West. We were missing three players and still managed to win 3-0. Gillian Morrison led the scoring with two and Hannah Lee scored the third. Assists for the team went to Molly O’Grady, Claire Young, Sarah Polak, Lauren Donovan and Klara Steeves. Kayla Diliberatore had a great game in nets and earned her shutout.   Game today at 4pm versus Sackville at the Sackville Arena.

Could the following students please come to the office for a message: Cory Tucker, Diego Ludovice, Matthew Bayne and Chris Moller.

March Break Europe Travelers – There will be a mandatory lunch meeting for everyone going to Eastern Europe during March Break today in room 231.

GSA will meet in the Youth Health Centre, room 209 at lunch time today.

Important Remembrance Day committee meeting today at lunch room 340 at 12:10.

Yearbook Meeting Cancelled for today after school.  Rescheduled for Tuesday at 3:30 in 239.

Multicultural club welcomes new members. Please come to meet Friday at lunch in room 308, if you are interested in learning different cultures and celebrating cultural diversity.

Black History Essay Contest – RBC is inviting students to share their thoughts in a 750 word essay on how black Canadians have helped to define Canada’s diverse heritage and identity through their achievements and contributions to the broader society. In doing so, they qualify to win one of five $500 scholarships in Atlantic Canada and one of three National grand prizes of up to $5,000.

Atlantic’s regional winners will be chosen by a panel of African Canadian RBC Atlantic staff and the national winners will be selected by an external panel comprised of African Canadian business and community leaders.  There are two Atlantic Canadian representatives on the national panel: Judge Corrine Sparks of Halifax, and Ralph Thomas of Saint John, NB.

Essays must be submitted by December 5, 2014 and winners will be announced in early February in time for 2015 Black History Month.

It would be wonderful to have a lot of submissions from students from across Atlantic – who knows, maybe there will be a national winner from this region! More information can be found at www.rbc.com/essay
