The first badminton tryout is tomorrow at 7:30AM – 9AM. The next is Friday at 8:30-10PM.

Snowboarding Team – Meeting will take place at noon on Thursday in room 224.

Lions Quest Speak Out–Students are asked to pass in their resumes for the Lions Quest Speak Out (speech competition) to Mr. Hall by Friday. If you need help developing your topic, or you want to practice your speech, drop by room 228 today at lunch. Remember your speech is 5 minutes long on a topic of your choice.

Peer Tutoring – As second semester begins, CPA Peer Tutoring program is looking for tutors! We are looking for students who would be able to tutor primarily in Math, Science and second language courses. There will be a mandatory meeting today at lunch in room 132 for all students who signed up to be peer tutors at the Clubs fair in September, and for any newly interested tutors. Anyone who needs a tutor for a class this semester can request one by e-mailing cpapeertutoring@gmail.com

Grad Photos:  The deadline for Grad Photo submissions to Yearbook is March 1st.  There are no more opportunities to have them taken at the school, so you must contact a photographer or visit Walmart or the Superstore.  If you have had a grad photo taken at school, and even if you did not purchase a photo package, that photo will be sent to me directly.

Please be respectful of the March 1st deadline as to avoid disappointment.  Your photo will not appear in the yearbook if you do not submit a photo on or before March 1st.  Submissions to be sent to Ms. Payne at jpayne@hrsb.ns.ca

Grad Write Ups:  Pink forms for Grad Write Ups will be distributed AGAIN second semester.  DO NOT PANIC if you have not submitted a write up yet.  See Ms. Payne for forms and submissions.

Coop Education: Students interested in Co-op for next year should complete forms and submit to Mr. Rhymes by February 16th

The Discovery Centre is looking for a team of four to participate in its annual Brain War.  There are currently 15 high schools registered for this event.  Brain War is based on the STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) areas of study, and including the Arts (STEAM) as a testing component, it’s an ambitious, challenging competition designed to crown the smartest team in Nova Scotia.  It’s not just about smarts – it’s a six-hour, intellectual, emotional and creative marathon. This event is one of the best team-building experiences you’ll ever experience. It’s all about quick decision-making, working together and leadership. See Mrs. Swimm in guidance if you are interested in enrolling.
