ANNOUNCEMENTS Monday, April 18, 2016

There is a mandatory Wind Ensemble Dress Rehearsal after school (after the awards ceremony) until around 5pm. Members of the ensemble are asked to return to the school at 6:30pm to prepare for the concert.

Model UN is cancelled today. We will meet next Monday after school in room 228.

The boys’ box lacrosse team must attend a brief meeting in LS 238 at 12:05.  If you miss this meeting you will not be eligible to play in the first game Tuesday at 7PM at the Lebrun Arena.

TECH CLUB: Due to the overwhelming response to last week’s Microsoft  Hololens demonstration, additional demo sessions have been scheduled  during our Wednesday lunch meetings in Lab 224 until the  end of May. Unfortunately, we can only accommodate 4 – 5 people at each meeting because the Hololens must be calibrated for each user. If you are interested in a hands-on demonstration, please add your name to the sign-up lists outside room 203 and 224. We may also provide an  after school opportunity as well if demand is high. NOTE: this is currently the ONLY Microsoft Hololens in all of Canada  so having an opportunity to personally test it is truly a  unique  experience!!

Girls Softball Tryout – The first tryout will now be Thursday from 3:35 – 4:45 in the Gym.

LAST CHANCE for YEARBOOK:  Pre-order your yearbook today from the MAIN OFFICE during lunch.  Yearbooks are $60.  Cheque or cash only.

Interested in improving your speed, agility & conditioning? All students welcome – starts Friday at 7am on the field. After that it will run every Tuesday and Friday morning.

Legion Leadership Training Camp – The purpose of the Camp is to offer you an opportunity to develop leadership skills. Elements of art, drama, athletic skills, music and dance are used to allow the individual to develop public speaking and communication skills; to learn motivational skills; to be able to organize groups to conduct a specific task or pursue a course of action for the benefit of the group. The program is designed to give young people the ability to gain insight into their own abilities and develop skills which will benefit them for the rest of their lives. The ultimate goal of the Camp is that you will make a potential difference in any team and/or organization in which you are involved in your school, church or community. See Mrs. Swimm in guidance for the information booklet, eligibility, and application form.  Applications are due by April 23rd.
