Girls JV Soccer: Could the following see Mr. Penney in 341 at lunch today: Rachel Hammersley, Chelsea Hammersley, Tori Lecco, Olivia Arab, Abbie Butler, Jillian Hayden, Laura Taylor, Skyler Wells, Taylor Shannon, Danica Ottosen, and Rachel Brouwer.
Drama Club – will take place today at lunch.
Multicultural Day – There will be a meeting today in room 206 for anyone interested in participating in the multicultural day. Ambassadors and international students are encouraged to be there.
GSA – There will be a GSA meeting in the Youth Health Centre today at lunch. All students and interested staff are invited. Feel free to bring your lunch. Yesterday’s bake sale was a huge success. Thanks to all who baked and bought to support the GSA.
The Canadian Open Mathematics Challenge will be written on November 3rd, and is open to high school students of any grade. Please see Mrs. van Donkelaar at lunch in room 326 today to register or to pay if you have not yet done so.
Health Action Team – There will be a meeting for the Health Action Team on Thursday in the Youth Health Centre at lunch. All welcome. Feel free to bring your lunch. See you there.
Chess Club: will meet on Thursday at lunch in room 230. All are welcome to participate.
The Cheetah Perspective: There will be a meeting on Thursday at lunch in room 340.

Yearbook Cover Contest: Creative Cheetahs, take heed! Design the cover of Charles P. Allen’s 2016-2017 yearbook and you win a) a free yearbook b) full proof of cover (great for portfolios) and c) glory. Your cover must include the name of our school (Charles P. Allen), the year (2016-2017), our school colours (royal blue and white) and our mascot (cheetah). Deadline for submissions is October 28. Please see Ms. Payne in 335 if you have further questions.
Peer tutoring is now available – students in need of a tutor should email: CPApeertutoring@gmail.com. We are also accepting applications for students who wish to be a tutor: math, sciences and languages – if you speak a 2nd or 3rd language – we definitely want you! See Ms. Morgan in the Library asap.
Post-secondary presentations: On Thursday the University of New Brunswick will be speaking with students at lunch in the Library Quiet Room.
Reminder of the following rules for hockey games:
1) NO BAGS/PURSES will be allowed in the Arena
2) Drinks of any kind will not be allowed to be taken into the rink.
3) Once inside the arena if you leave you will not be allowed back into the game.
4) Students will not be able to enter after 8:20 pm.
5) School rules apply.
6) Student ID’s will be checked. Students may not be allowed entry without their ID’s.

Scholarships of up to $10,000 are awarded to full-time students in their final year of high school with financial need (family income under $65,000) who have demonstrated integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity, a commitment to pursue a post-secondary education, a desire to contribute to society, and a good academic record. CEGEP students in Quebec, and all Canadian students in their final year of high school are eligible to apply in English or French. The application deadline is October 25, 2016.
