Eight scholarships in the amount of $1,500.00, five in the amount of $2,000.00 and two in the amount of $1,000.00 are anticipated to be available for the academic year beginning September 2018.
Conditions: To be considered, scholarship applicants must:
-Be a person with a permanent disability. ‘Permanent Disability’ means a limitation that restricts the ability of a person to perform the activities necessary to participate in educational activities or in the labour force within the range considered normal. This limitation is expected to remain with the person for life;
-Be a permanent resident of Nova Scotia;
-Be entering or continuing studies, at the undergraduate level, in a Canadian post-secondary institution that is recognized by the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada; and
-Not be involved in the selection process or be a close family member of any scholarship selection committee member.

IWK Future Research and Innovation Scholarship

Application criteria: Grade 12 student with at 75% average minimum, pursuing studies in the health field.
Due March 9. $1,000 non renewable scholarship to successful applicants undertaking post secondary studies. Eligible to high school graduates who are practicing Catholics and who are residents of Nova Scotia. Applications are available outside of the guidance office.
Zonta clubs usually provide awards for club recipients. District/region recipients receive US$1,000. Ten international recipients are selected from the district/region recipients to receive additional awards of US$4,000 each. District/region and international awards are funded by the Zonta International Foundation.

Eligible applicants will be from Atlantic Canada and entering, or already enrolled in, a post-secondary health care degree level program at an Atlantic Canadian institution. This scholarship focuses on the impact of community service and as such, applicants should be active participants in their community. A minimum grade average of 80 per cent is required or an overall pass where a degree is marked using a pass/fail system. Students graduating from a post-secondary degree in 2018 and not returning to a health degree program in 2018 are not eligible.
